Our projects

  • The Baptist Missionary Church of Jean Rabel

Our goal is to contribute to a measurable transformation in the lives of disadvantaged families and thereby improve their standard of living within the community. We catalyze all our projects towards the primary needs of these families by focusing mainly on children and young people who are the future. The community is strengthened because we invite them to take part in all our projects and it actively participates in their realization.

Project in perspective

Centre Professionnel et Technique de Jean-Rabel

In Jean-Rabel, like other localities in Haiti, education is almost non-existent. The few students who manage to complete their secondary education do not find any university or professional center or school where they can learn a trade. If they cannot afford to go to Port-de-Paix, Gonaives or Port-au-Prince, they spend their days idle without having the opportunity to learn and have a profession. Without a profession that can provide them with the money to live on, they will remain rooted in the cycle of poverty. The insecurity that pervades the streets of the capital prevents even those who can afford to venture into other cities. The young people of this locality want to learn, but they have nowhere that offers this service. We have in perspective the creation of a professional center that could really help young people to have a better future.

Nan Coton Community Center

Health is a non-negligible factor in community development. It is true that we have a program where goodwill professionals volunteer to provide assistance and service at medical fairs, but we are actively working on the creation of a community center which will house a dispensary, a training center for pregnant women and a recreation center for children and young people. We want professionals to be there permanently to ensure the well-being of the community.

We firmly believe that the community center will be beneficial for this locality which has no leisure, almost nothing in terms of basic service. They travel a lot of kilometers in order to find something to live on normally. Not only will children and young people be able to recreate themselves, but they will also have a space for learning and development.

Young girls get pregnant in their teenage years because they do not receive any training and they do not know how to protect themselves and take care of a baby. We do not only want to educate them in this sense but also to show them that life does not end after having a child.

The dispensary would be useful to the whole community because they will be able to receive the first ones at the dispensary.

Small house construction project

After spending a lot of time with the locals, we were alarmed by the conditions in which they lived. The houses are mainly made of thatch and straw. For a country that is often prone to cyclones, floods, imagine the worries of those people who live in houses that are not equipped for inclement weather. Often they lose the little possessions they have. It is with this in mind that this project was set up to allow the people of the locality to benefit from a solid house that can stand at all times. Ten families have already benefited from a house. But there are still so many families left in this community. The project is still ongoing, the goal is that 50 to 100 families can benefit from a solid house.

The Baptist Missionary Church of Jean Rabel

This Church has existed for several years, on the other hand it does not yet have a sanctuary. The construction of the floor of the church has already been laid but due to lack of funds the church could not continue with the construction. There is still a lot of work to be done in order to finish with the building of the Church. This project is still ongoing.
